What is Propolis?

Propolis is a resinous substance bees make to seal, disinfect, and protect their hive. Propolis has natural antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Sometimes known as ‘bee glue’ propolis can help fight and prevent viral, bacterial and fungal infections whilst also soothing the skin.

A dog’s skin in particular has a very thin epidermis making it susceptible to bacteria and skin infections. Propolis soap can help manage mild irritations and infections by removing unwanted bacteria from the surface of your pet’s skin.

Frequent use of Propolis on the skin can also help ward off recurring viruses and protect against fleas as well! If fleas have caused bites or scratching, Propolis can will assist in healing your pets' skin of minor cuts and wounds.

Why we add honey & sandalwood to our Pet soap​

While Propolis provides antibacterial activity, Honey, with its complex composition of nectar, enzymes and minerals provides moisture and hydration.

The addition of Sandalwood Oil gives a refreshing fragrance, that backs up the wound healing antibacterial activity of propolis. The fragrance of sandalwood is said to have a calming effect that can help which may be soothing for your pet too!.

How to use our Gentle Pet Cleansing Soap

 

Simply wet your pet and work the soap into a lather using your hands. Rub evenly all over your pet's coat then rinse. Avoid the eye and nose area. Use regularly to keep your pet’s coat healthy and clean.
